According to moneyinstructor.com, fast fooe equals bad eating habbits. A typical meal from a fast food restaurant, say a serving of fries and a cheeseburger, amount to about 1,000 calories. This is about half of the recommended dietary allowance. This is mainly because of the large portions that fast foods are accustomed to serving. The tendency is for people to enlarge their appetites by eating beyond their limit, because of being afraid for the food to go to waste.Another issue in the fast food industry is the health hazards that fast food chains are prone to. A hazard is the E-coli bacteria that meat products are susceptible to. Because of the long supply chain through which fast food chains operate in, the handling and sourcing of the meat is very hard to monitor.

I agree with money instuctor, fast food hambugers have so many fatty things in them. People do enlarge there stuff because they don't want to throw it out and lose money. People are going to be so fat in twenty years at the rate if the fasst food industry now, and I dont want my child living through it!

According to NIH news, young adults who eat frequently at fast-food restaurants gain more weight and have a greater increase in insulin resistance in early middle age, according to a large multi-center study funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and published in the January 1 issue of The Lancet.Fast-food consumption has increased in the United States over the past three decades. More and more families do not eat dinner at home, instead they go out to dinner almst everynight.Calories add up very fast when eating fast food. A person may not realize how many calories they are gettin, in just one meal. One reason for the weight gain may be that a single meal from one of these restaurants often contains enough calories to satisfy a person’s caloric requirement for an entire day.According to a study, men visited fast-food restaurants more frequently than women and blacks more frequently than whites. Black men reported an average frequency of 2.3 visits per week in 2000-2001. White women had the lowest frequency, at an average of 1.3 visits per week in 2000-2001. Wei, a writer for NIH says,"Keep portion sizes small, and ask that high-fat sauces and condiments, such as salad dressing and mayonnaise, be “on the side” and use them sparingly to reduce calories,."

I agree with NIH. We really don't know how many calories we take in when just eating one hamburger. I know that my family eats out alot more then we used to because we are so busy and there are so many fast food places out there with a lot of selections. With the dressings and side sauces your calorie intake can go up alot and you will not even realize it. Thats why I always stick to getting the lite on everything I can!

Exactly How Bad Is Fast Food For Your Health?

According to Steve Hoss, "fast food isn't necessarily junk food". Hoss analyzed the nutritional value of the "All American" meal a cheeseburger, shake, and fries from seven major fast food chains and got the results that he expected. The locations show that the average meal of a cheesburger, shake, and fries would supply about 70%-80% of the daily protein required for most people in one day. For a growing teen the extra protein can be ok sometimes, but for adults, its just extra calories. The cheeseburger, fries, and shake all equal to about 1,150 calories which would be enough calorie intake for one day. Most fast food meals don't contain enough complex carbs and fiber, although many chains of fast food now offer salads to fill that gap. A salad with a diet coke is much better for you then a cheeseburger, but a plain burger without chees and fatty oils can still be a nutricious meal, yet fairly low in calories.

I agree with Steve Hoss. The three things, a cheeseburger, shake and fries, are very fatty. I would not even be able to eat all of those without feeling sick. Hoss explains that you can eat a hambuger without anything and its not to bad for you, but a salad is overall the best choice.
